Are you having difficulty inserting media into your media library?

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use the media library in WordPress:

  1. Login to your WordPress account and navigate to the Dashboard.
  2. Click on the 'Media' button on the left-hand side of the screen. This will take you to the Media Library.
  3. To add a new image, video or audio file, click on the 'Add New' button at the top of the screen. You can either drag and drop files into the upload area or click on 'Select Files' to browse for the files on your computer.
  4. Once you have uploaded your media file, you can add a title, caption, alt text and description to it. You can also choose how you want the file to be displayed on your website by selecting the alignment, size, and link options.
  5. To edit an existing media file, click on the file in the Media Library and select 'Edit'. You can then make any changes to the title, caption, alt text or description.
  6. To delete a media file, simply click on the file in the Media Library and select 'Delete Permanently'. Note that once a file is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
  7. You can also organize your media files by creating folders and adding files to them. To create a new folder, click on the 'Add New Folder' button at the top of the screen.

File Types:

By default, WordPress allows users to upload various types of media files including images, videos, audios, PDFs, and documents. However, certain file types may not be allowed depending on your website's settings or the plugins installed. If you try to upload a file that is not allowed, WordPress will display an error message.

File Size:

WordPress also has limits on the file size that can be uploaded to the media library. By default, WordPress allows users to upload files up to 2 MB in size. However, this limit can be increased or decreased by editing the website's settings or by using plugins. If you try to upload a file that exceeds the file size limit, WordPress will display an error message.

It's important to note that large files can slow down your website's performance and affect the user experience. So, it's recommended to optimize your media files before uploading them to your website. You can use image optimization tools, compress video and audio files, and reduce the file size of documents to improve your website's loading speed.
